Centered on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, this spiritual growth tool features New Testament scholar, teacher, and author Dr. David Nystrom. Adapted from the original VHS series to a shorter DVD format, each session is designed with the adult learner in mind and teaches how to use historical context in the interpretation of the Gospel texts. Learners are challenged to apply the teaching to their own spiritual development or formation. This tool provides great biblical information to support our transformational journey! As a result of this teaching/learning experience, individuals will be able to use historical context to reach a deeper understanding of the Gospels; understand the effects of multiple viewpoints on the content of the Gospels; use interpretive reflection as a tool for bringing new meaning to the message of the Gospels; use interpretive reflection as a tool for greater insight into one's personal application of the lessons of the Gospel; and participate in discussion and reflection as a method for increasing biblical literacy.
